About

Our Mission Statement:

The Crohn’s Journey Foundation is a non-profit run for and by individuals with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). We provide education and support to people with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. We believe in finding a holistic balance between soul, body and mind, alongside medical treatment. We connect with each other through meet-up groups, retreats, recipes, articles and social media.

About The Foundation:

HeartLogoThe Crohn’s Journey Foundation is a non-profit founded by Sarah Choueiry on December 2012 with the help of the Foundation team, Linton Rogers, Kevin A. Barnes and Stephanie Smith. The Crohn’s Journey Foundation is the IBD* movement for compassion, health and love for your insides.

The Crohn’s Journey Foundation’s goal is to create a haven all over the world for people with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, through our IBD Retreats. The retreats encompass a well-rounded, East meets West approach to healing, focusing on mind, body, and soul. The retreats allow people with IBD to relate to others who truly understand the struggles that come with having an inflammatory bowel disease.

The foundation is run only volunteers who have IBD, for people with IBD. 100% of the donations go towards TCJF causes. The majority of the money raised ( approx. 90%)  go towards our IBD Retreats, allowing us to reduce the cost of admissions to our retreats for those with IBD and their loved ones. The remainder allows us to sustain our web site and cover any fees associated with sustaining our non profit status.

IBD Fact: IBD is one of the five most prevalent gastrointestinal disease burdens in the United States with overall health care cost more than 1.7 billion dollars.

Along with the retreats, we also connect with the community through our articles and recipe page. The Crohn’s Journey Foundation articles provide a voice to the IBD community through our panel of IBD writers who volunteer their time to educate and share their Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis stories. The recipe page is filled with delicious recipes created by cooks and chefs that have IBD themselves, bringing to you gluten free, dairy free, sugar free and the majority of them are paleo.

Take your time to enjoy The Crohn’s Journey Foundation and all it has to offer. Please consider showing your support to make a difference in the IBD World. Love to all your bellies!
